MV Poem, designed by the legendary Edwin Monk Sr. in 1938, is more than just a boat—it’s our home. Gifted to us by our dear friend, Lloyd Williams, she spent much of her life cruising the waters of Puget Sound, a living tribute to the golden era of wooden boatbuilding.
Since bringing her into our lives in 2021, we’ve dedicated ourselves to restoring her, with significant upgrades including new planking, bronze through-hulls, and modern plumbing, wiring, and electronics. In 2022-23, we undertook an interior refit, rebuilding bulkheads and refinishing her inside and out.
Now moored at Victoria’s Causeway Marina, right in front of the iconic Empress Hotel, MV Poem is more than just a place to stay—it’s a sanctuary. We’ve invested not only our time and energy but our hearts into her, making her the foundation of our life together. She’s not just a project; she’s home, and we wouldn’t trade that for anything.
